The Walkmen : Troubadour : 11/11/07

The New York City-based Walkmen graced the Troubadour stage last night in West Hollywood. They delivered their unique energetic sound to the comparatively calm crowd. Seriously, there wasn’t much movement among the audience, which led to the vibe of it actually being Sunday night. However, that didn’t damper my experience or the signature vocal belting of Hamilton, twangy-echoing guitar, bouncy drummer, spastic bass and keyboard sprinkles of The Walkmen.
It was an intimate setting. You can’t help but to be close to the stage at the Troubadour, my favorite venue in the Los Angeles area. Things finally got bumpin’ during the second encore, “Wake Up,” maybe a little too much with a couple turds exerting their will, throwing themselves into people (get a life).
Overall, The Walkmen represented and I’ll continue to see them whenever I can. Hopefully next time Rockwell will make the trip west and open for them.
