"The Gates" (1979-2005) is in its second and last week of exhibition in Central Park, NYC. It is the work of artists Christo and Jeanne-Claude. This past weekend I was able to experience "The Gates" on skates. It was a bit chilly, but overall the sun came out and the weekend was a perfect time to see what all the hype was about. It was well worth it, and I’ve got the pictures to prove it. The daytime provided sunny shots of the saffron gates. However, "The Gates" may have been best at night. There was barely anybody around, except for the mass amounts of security personnel. You could hardly escape their presence. Nevertheless, the best skating through the gates was done at night. The paths were clear of Gate-Watchers!
