I had never seen or heard of any of these bands before, which is sometimes the best way to experience a live band . . . pure, with no expectations.  All three delivered, especially doo-wop \/ punk duo King Khan &amp; the BBQ Show (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/thekingkhanbbqshow\" target=\"_blank\">myspace<\/a>) with their attitude and stage presence.  The A-Bones opened up very well, including their pianist \/ guitar player Ira Kaplan of Yo La Tengo.  The Vivians were probably good, but their sounds were over-droned and too loud, inhibiting me from deciphering very details in their tunes.  I&#8217;d be interested in hearing that female trio&#8217;s studio recordings.
